Pat G. Wright
Board Member
Pat G. Wright serves as A VOICE Board Member. Pat grew up in Jamaica, West Indies. She began her professional career in hotel management, where she was responsible for staff recruitment and training. In 1978 she moved to New York,
where she completed her BS and MBA in Accounting, graduating with distinction
in the MBA program at Long Island University. She is currently a CPA licensed in
the state of New York and an adjunct professor at Long Island University where
she teaches all levels of Accounting and taxation.
Pat has extensive experience working for non-profits. She served as Deputy Director
of Administration and Finance for The Studio Museum in Harlem from 1988-1989, and was the Financial Controller at the International Center of Photography (ICP)
in New York, from 1983-1988 which is where she met David and Jill and where
she developed an admiration for David’s passion for bringing photography to underserved youth.
Pat is the Chair of the Scholarship Fund for High School students at the Lenox Road Baptist Church in Brooklyn since 1999. She frequently mentors students for the CPA examination and helps many to secure jobs. In 2020 she revived the IRS Volunteer Individual Tax Assistance (VITA) program at the LIU Campus, recruiting students to prepare taxes for the local community. Pat is a volunteer with the American Cancer Society annual fundraising team, raising over $6,000.00 annually.
